CALES Career Talk: Pima County Juvenile Court

Join the College of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences (CALES) Career Center for our weekly Career Talks. Each week, students connect with professionals working across public service, community systems, and impact-driven careers. Complimentary lunch is provided to students who RSVP and attend in person.

This week’s Career Talk features Erin LaRoccaLead Probation Officer with Pima County Juvenile Court – Probation. Erin works within the juvenile justice system, supporting youth and families through approaches centered on accountability, growth, and long-term success.

During this session, Erin will discuss how restorative justice guides juvenile probation work, emphasizing rehabilitation, responsibility, and community connection rather than punishment alone. Students will learn about the many different functions within Juvenile Probation, including case management, court involvement, community partnerships, and youth-focused programming.

Erin will also highlight training and professional growth opportunities within Pima County Juvenile Court, offering insight into career pathways for students interested in criminal justice, social services, psychology, public administration, youth development, and community-based work. This Career Talk is ideal for students exploring careers in public service and justice-focused systems where making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives is central to the work.
