Van Andel Institute’s Materials Management department is currently seeking a Supply Chain Intern for up to a maximum of 40 hours per week over the summer months (~May through August).
This internship will offer an opportunity to learn about:
- Procurement Operations: Sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing research supplies and services
- Logistics Operations: Receiving: Inspecting, reconciling, and distributing incoming research supplies Shipping: Assessing requirements, shipping Dangerous Goods, and shipping internationally (import, export, trade compliance)

Inventory Operations: Managing stock, order fulfillment, and delivery
- Utilizing specialized applications to track and manage business transactions (i.e., Workday and others)
- Collaborating across departments to effectively contribute toward an institutional mission
- Balancing daily tasks with long-term projects
We would expect you to:
- Be enrolled full-time in a Supply Chain or business program at an accredited college or university; with the goal of working in a business-related field
- Have previous experience working in office maintenance or office services environment
- Be detail oriented
- Be committed to providing excellent customer service
- Be excellent with oral and written communication
- Be proficient with computer office applications (i.e. Microsoft Office)
