Camps and conference centers across the country are looking for passionate and skilled Equine Wranglers to join their teams for summer 2024. Wranglers, Equine Staff, Riding Instructors, and Ranch Hands will be responsible for all aspects related to horsemanship, equine care, herd management, barn facility management, and animal stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
Horse Care: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of horses by providing proper feeding, grooming, tack fitting, deworming, and other cares. Will assist with farrier care and vetting.
Horseback Riding Instruction: Instruct campers in horseback riding skills including safety, English skills, western skills, groundwork skills, trail riding, and specialty disciplines (vaulting, trick riding, cattle work, etc.)
Riding Program Coordination: Plan and organize riding activities, including trail rides, riding lessons, groundwork lessons, equine science/philosophy lessons, and horse-related games and events.
Supervision: Oversee campers ensuring their safety and adherence to riding rules.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Maintain and care for riding equipment, saddles, bridles, teaching tools, and the equestrian facility.
Safety Protocols: Enforce safety guidelines for campers and staff participating in equestrian activities, including helmet use and proper riding clothes/footwear.
Horse Health Records: Maintain records of the health, shoeing, trimming, vaccinations, and medical care of camp horses.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to horse-related emergencies, initiate emergency procedures, and coordinate with the camp’s health center if necessary.
